We are excited to announce the 2021 Site Steward Annual Conference, October 29th -3st at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Tempe Arizona. The Conference will begin it's two full days of programming on Friday morning, October 29th and conclude with excursions, hikes and activities on Sunday, October 31st. There is no fee to attend the Site Steward Conference. Registration fees, conference food/beverages, conference workshop facilities are all covered through grants and or general support from Luke Air Force Base, Bureau of Reclamation, Arizona State Parks & Trails, SHPO and through donations made to the AZ Site Steward Program Foundation.

Arizona Project Archaeology will host a free half day Project Archaeology Investigating Shelter in-person workshop in conjunction with the Site Steward Program Annual Conference.

This session will be held at the Pueblo Grande Museum Archaeological Park on October 30, 12noon-4pm. In addition to being introduced to this comprehensive inquiry-based curriculum, complete with a state standards crosswalk, each workshop attendee will receive:

  • a free copy of the Investigating Shelter curriculum (a $49.95 value),

  • a participation certificate for continuing education credit and

  • a raffle ticket, entering you to win lesson-related classroom tools and two $100 field trip stipends.
